Document checklist
Our portal will allow you to submit six (6) documents to your application. If you have a large number of documents or large files we encourage you to compress them in zip files.
Details of proposed delivery plan for the whole course
This single table should include:
- Units/subjects offered (including electives) and nominal hours for each unit/subject
- Field placement hours and scheduling
- Whole course structure outlining the sequence of units/subjects (including fieldwork placements)
- Details of units/subjects delivered online or via distance education (where applicable this should include details of synchronous/asynchronous delivery)
- Packaging details (Cert III/IV, Diploma)
- Details of intake/enrolment structure, student numbers and class sizes
Copies of training and assessment details for two core units
- Core units relate to Community Work Australia core content requirements (e.g. counselling, case work, community development, group work etc.). This should include training and assessment plans, deliverable material.
- For higher education courses unit outlines/guides are required for all units in the course to ensure core content requirements are met
A staff matrix for each staff member
A staff matrix for each staff member of the course is required, including the course coordinator, fieldwork placement coordinator and all teaching and fieldwork placement staff. You can use your own matrix or our template however, it should include the following:
- Unit/subject allocations
- Details of qualifications held (including date of qualification completion, course name and name of education provider)
- Direct practice industry experience (including workplace name, role, start and end dates in roles, duties performed, employment status (e.g. full-time, part-time or sessional – hours per week)
Fieldwork placement guidelines/manual
The manual is a key resource for your students and fieldwork placement agencies, ensuring they have the appropriate knowledge and information to assist them through the entire placement. At a minimum, Community Work Australia requires that the fieldwork placement manual includes:
- Fieldwork placement overview
- Fieldwork placement requirements (total hours, number of days per week, number of placements, nature of tasks and responsibilities to be undertaken)
- Expectations of students, fieldwork placement coordinators/supervisors and host agency supervisors
- Examples of course-specific tasks that the student should be involved in
- Liaison visits and supervision details
- Process for grievances and seeking assistance
- Assessment details
Copies of fieldwork placement agreements/MoU’s
These are required for at least three community service agencies (If changed from previous application). Please ensure student names are removed. Details of the host agency supervisors (including details of relevant qualification/s and industry experience) as well as the programs offered by the agency that students will be placed in should be provided for each agreement.
As part of our assessment Community Work Australia may request a database of fieldwork placement agencies to assess the capacity to place all students in suitable fieldwork placement arrangements.

- Library resources (including relevant physical and online resources. This may include online academic databases available to students)
- Staff CPD policy
- RPL policy
- English language entry requirement policy (for education providers who have international students)
