This qualification reflects the role of community services workers who are involved in the delivery, coordination, and management of person-centred services to individuals, groups, and communities.

At this level, workers possess specialised skills in community services and operate with a high degree of autonomy within their scope of practice, under broad guidance from senior management. They play a key role in supporting individuals to create positive change in their lives, enhancing both personal and social wellbeing.

Workers may also be responsible for supervising other staff and volunteers, and may undertake case management and program coordination responsibilities.

All skills and practices associated with this qualification must be applied in accordance with relevant Commonwealth and State/Territory legislation, Australian standards, and industry codes of practice.
